Next Wednesday, March 2nd, will be the second meeting of 2016, and I just know that everyone is looking forward to seeing all their friends in the Southern Tier Seniors - and meeting new friends.

February Meeting Canceled

Due to the fact that the Clermont Firehouse will not be available in February, we had to cancel the February 3rd meeting. All who attended in January are aware of this. However, if you know anyone that was not at the meeting in January, please let them know about this change.

Our March 2nd meeting will be held at the Clermont Firehouse on Rte. 9G - doors are open by 11am and the meeting begins at noon. All senior citizens are welcome to attend. We will be celebrating St.Patrick's Day. Bring your lunch - desserts will be supplied by members with last names M - R, and the club will supply the coffee/tea.  It will be a fun day, so bring a friend (no charge for guests in March.)

If you're a member and haven't paid your dues ($12 for the year), please see Betty or Connie. Hopefully, JoAnn will be all recovered and will have a listing of planned trips for 2016.

Some future events coming up: April 6th meeting will be a luncheon; May 4th will be the penny social; June 1st we'll be playing Family Feud; and July 6th will be our annual picnic/bbq.

Hope to see you all there.

2016 Has Arrived!!

Today, Wednesday, January 6, 2016 will be the first meeting of the New Year.

The Southern Tier Seniors meet once a month on the first Wednesday (unless the schools in Germantown and/or Red Hook are closed due to inclement weather) - then we would meet the next day.  So far this Winter it doesn't look like we'll have that problem!!

Our meeting place is at the Clermont Firehouse on Rt. 9G. Doors open by 11AM and the meeting begins at Noon. Members bring desserts and the club provides the coffee/tea. Bring your lunch, unless there is a special luncheon (ie: April, July (picnic), November). Dues are $12 for the year. Guests are always welcome - so bring a friend. No charge for guests unless there is a luncheon - then $5 for guests.

Each month brings a different Theme - with different activities and/or speakers. January will be celebrating the New Year and give you a last chance to wear that ugly Christmas sweater!! We also have trips throughout the year organized by JoAnn Storms. If you have any questions or want additional information, call our president, Jim Storms or JoAnn at 845-756-2960 or our membership chairperson, Betty at 845-758-5758.

Hope to see you there today - or if not, maybe February 3rd - celebrating our (USA) Presidents!!!

December Events

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2nd begins the Southern Tier Seniors' events with our monthly meeting at the Clermont Firehouse on 9G.
This meeting is always very special and cheerful. Of course, Christmas is our theme for the month, with lots of singing and cheer. The meeting starts at noon, followed by refreshments provided by members with last names S - Z. I'll be bringing a Pineapple Upside Down cake.
Then the real fun begins with our gift exchange (we always have extras to make sure everyone gets something) - and the reading of The Night Before Christmas. And, of course, we'll be singing the Twelve Days of Christmas.
It's a lot of fun. All seniors are welcome. Doors open at 11am.

Then, on Sunday, December 6th we'll be celebrating with our Annual Christmas Dinner/Luncheon Dance. Doors open at noon at the Clermont Firehouse, with music provided by Paul Slusar at 12:30pm and a wonderful family style dinner served by the firehouse members at 1pm. Door prizes will be given and a good time had by all. Looks like we'll have a great turn-out (65 tickets sold), and the weather should be great too. Looking forward to seeing you all - bring your tickets to enter for the door prizes.
